Introducing The Eudaimonia Project: Data + Story = Impact
Hey community,
I'm Emmanuel Simms, and I'm bringing The Eudaimonia Project into this space because I believe you all get something that a lot of organizations miss: data without story is sterile. Story without data is anecdotal. Together? That's power.
We're a nonprofit working at the intersection of mental health education, film production, publishing, and community organizing. We just found out we're finalists for the 2026 Splunkie Awards—Change Agent category—and that recognition landed because we're doing something unconventional: measuring mental health impact through a lens that honors both the quantitative AND the human.
What does that look like?
- A feature documentary (*The What's Your Mental Health?*) that's also a data collection instrument
- A magazine and digital ecosystem that amplifies community voices while gathering actionable insights
- A publishing slate built on community focus group research and safe-messaging frameworks
- Live events, workshops, and a film festival (just wrapped our second year)
All of it measured. All of it intentional. All of it centered on real people.
Why I'm here:
I want to learn from your approaches. I want to understand how other mission-driven organizations are wrestling with the data-story gap. And I want to share what we're building because I think there's a whole community of nonprofits doing incredible work but feeling isolated in the challenge of measuring it authentically.
So here's my invitation: let's collaborate. Let's exchange frameworks. Let's figure out together how to turn data into doing—in a way that honors both the rigor AND the humanity.
