About this event

It's 2021 and we're back! To kick off the new year, we're super excited to host our first user group. It's been hard staring at screens all of 2020, so we were able to start it off right with an in person user group. We have arranged the Port Office Hotel, which adheres to COVID safe rules. It's an amazing venue with heaps of space upstairs at the balcony bar. 
This will be both an in person and virtual (via Zoom Webinar) event to cater for our entire audience. Please not the later start time in the agenda for our remote guests.
We are arranging a great line up of speakers, stayed tuned for updates. We also have a cool prize, a smart connected cube: https://getgocube.com The winner will be determined by a short trivia competition about the presentations at the end, so pay attention! :-)

6:00 AM	In Person Social.	Get to know each other again, and in real life!
6:45 AM	Remote Attendees Join / Kickoff.	If you're joining remote, now is the time to join. We will say g'day to all and kick off the presentations.
7:00 AM	Guest Speaker: Matt Pearce.	Splunk metrics always been a bit of a mystery to you? See Matt have fun with Splunk metrics, including collecting custom data sources, graphing, and alerting.
7:30 AM	Guest Speaker: James Hodgkinson.	It wouldn't be a user group without some security content. James will show fail2ban coordination across web platforms with Splunk. Cool!
8:00 AM	Guest Speaker: Chris Younger	Chris is a SplunkTrust member, which are selected by their peers for their dedication to the Splunk community. Chris will speak about how he has used Splunk to predict disk drive capacities. He may also give a peak at some of his cool visualisations!
8:30 AM	Trivia and Prize.	Want to win a super cool Go Cube? (https://getgocube.com) Pay close attention when the speakers are up as we will have a short trivia competition to determine who wins it.
8:40 AM	So long to remote guests.	We will wrap up for our remote guests, however bar will still be open for those in person.
