Do you ever get frustrated with Splunk and wonder why performance is sluggish or why it so difficult to make your dashboards look the way you want? Greg Smith intends to help remove some of that frustration by discussing 3 common areas: appendpipe, map, and table formatting.
Does 1 + 1 always equal 2? Not if you use appendpipe. Appendpipe performs an invaluable function but you should be aware of its performance cost and peculiarites.
The map function is great, but there are a few oddities that will drive you insane until you are aware of them.
