About this event

In this session, we’ll level-set the what, why and key terminology used in observability and the assets coming out of the CNCF OpenTelemetry project (think traces, metrics and logs). We’ll talk about real-world scenarios and even see a demo of Splunk Observability Cloud as one example of a backend platform for ingest and correlation. We’ll end with open source assets for you to continue on your own.

Janelle Shaw is a Staff Sales Engineer with Splunk focused on helping customers shift thinking from more traditional structured monitoring to observability and adopting solutions to drive that change. While she loved her years on the Upper West Side, she is based now in Mechanicsburg, PA where she enjoys time with her husband (also a technologist), son (9) and daughter (10). Janelle has a background focused on application performance and reliability
